M42D RV Chrome is an on-demand coffee grinder from Macap with a built-in timer for perfectly dosing freshly ground coffee every time. The coffee grinder has two grinding time programs, single/double, which can be adjusted with high precision using the stepless grind adjustment, and continuous grinding is also available. M42D RV Chrome can grind 2 grams of coffee per second, making it well suited for busy situations. Macap M42D RV Chrome is equipped with an easily accessible power switch to the right of the outlet for easy switching on and off.

M42D RV Chrome has a medium-sized bean hopper with room for 500 g of espresso beans, which means that you can practically grind coffee for approximately 55 espressos per filled coffee grinder, although it is not recommended to fill the entire bean hopper. Only fill the grinder with an amount of coffee that you will consume in the near future (a few days), so that the coffee and its aromas are not unnecessarily exposed to oxygen.

The stylish design of the M42D RV Chrome makes it a very good fit next to any type of espresso machine. The chrome-plated metal matches all espresso machines with a chrome finish beautifully. M42D RV Chrome has a built-in LED light directed down into the portafilter, making it easier to set the grind size. It is possible to mount a portafilter holder support and coffee tamper directly on the coffee grinder. Macap M42D RV is available in Chrome and Black.

The bean inlet on the M42D RV Chrome is adjusted with a flat plate that can easily be pulled away from or pushed towards the grinder. If you want to remove the bean hopper from the Macap M42D RV Chrome while there are still espresso beans inside, you can push the flat plate in so that it covers the entire opening and then turn the bean hopper upwards. This can be done for cleaning the grinder or if you suspect that a problem has occurred in the grinding mechanism.

To clean the M42D RV Chrome, remove the bean hopper and pour a dose of Pulygrind into the grinding mechanism. Then place the bean hopper back in place. Grind out the Pulygrind crystals together with coffee until no crystals come out of the grinder, a couple of portions usually suffice. Cleaning should be done approximately once a month, but this of course depends on how often the grinder is used.

M42D RV Chrome is equipped with flat grinding plates with a circumference of 58 millimeters, which provide short grinding times and long durability. The coffee grinder's grind size can be adjusted steplessly using a knob located at the neck of the grinder. You can access the knob from both the right and left on the front and back. If you wish to make an adjustment, turn the knob a little at a time. Turning it clockwise makes the coffee coarser, and turning it counterclockwise makes the coffee finer. Keep in mind that the more arabica you have in your coffee blend, the finer you usually want the coffee ground to achieve the best possible result. Consequently, the opposite applies to robusta. If the Macap M42D RV Chrome coffee grinder is reasonably well set, usually only a small adjustment is needed. To check when the coffee grinder is correctly set, you can grind coffee for an espresso and then brew it. Experiment until the espresso is brewed at the right pace at the right time, 25 milliliters in 25 seconds is the target.

The time setting is done on the digital display on the front of the grinder. To enter the settings mode, press and hold the silver button on top of the display. From the settings mode, you can access the statistics as well as set the grinding time. Once the grinder is set, the silver button is used to switch between manual (infinity symbol) and timed ("Push and grind") grinding.

M42D RV Chrome belongs to the M42 series from Macap, which is intended for semi-professional use. M42D RV is the step above M42M R. M42D RV has a higher price tag because it has a digital display that simplifies the grinder setting as well as the option to mount a portafilter holder support and coffee tamper. M42D RV is also equipped with an LED light directed down into the portafilter. This model is well suited for those who like to experiment with the grinder. M42M R is the more stripped-down model that suits those who just want to be able to grind really good coffee without having to fiddle with it.
