E61 Group filter 60 mm

Below the diffuser in the E61 brew group is the group screen, which distributes water evenly over the coffee puck for optimal extraction. The group gasket is placed on the group screen, and both are pressed into the group. We recommend replacing these two components 1-2 times a year.

All you need to replace them is a short flat-head screwdriver. Pry off both components, leveraging against the group screen, and push them down. Clean inside the group. Install the new components with the group gasket in place, tapered side up. Use the screwdriver to guide the gasket into the groove around the edge, then push it up with your fingers. Fully seat them by using the portafilter; first remove the portafilter basket, then insert the portafilter into the group and tighten.
